Arnolds Promise (Hamamelis ‘Arnolds Promise’)
We grow all of our witch hazels as single trunked small trees. Arnolds will grow to 12′. Arnolds Promise flowers abundantly bright yellow in late winter and is fragrant, and as you can see gets good fall color. zone 6

Flowers are abundant (January and February) and coppery on this vigorous shrub. Slightly fragrant. Zone 6.

Amethyst (Hamamelis 'Amethyst')
Amethyst is a vernalis species which is easy to tell from the intermedias just by the leaf shape and color. Vernalis species can have some weird flower colors too as Amethyst does: sort of purple.

Corylopsis pauciflora (Corylopsis pauciflora)
Covered with small yellow fragrant flowers in late winter, this small dense shrub will spread out to six feet in time and stay less than 4′ tall. A must in a winter garden. Zone 7.
