Tsuma gaki is one of my favorites; it comes out in the spring with a yellowish green leaf rimmed with pink/purple, and it holds that color for quite a while; the leaves are sort of droopy giving the plant a soft delicate look; don’t even think about planting outside in full sun, but put it in the shade and you’ll be captivated.

Tsukushigata (Acer palmatum ‘Tsukushigata’ )
The spring color of the leaves of this cultivar is a dark purple; in summer, it changes to a sort of interesting brown, and then in the fall it is crimson. The veins in the leaves are always prominent. The growth habit is shrubby, to 12′ tall and almost as wide. zone 6
